Josh Brous
Senior Vice President of Events

Josh Brous recently spoke at MediaGrowth Summit 2022
about his strategy for successful events. Even with an engaged audience of 67,000, 150 events (in-person, virtual and webcast) and more than 300 sponsor relationships, he has had to make bold choices to increase revenue. Here is some of what Josh had to say.
1. The remnants of COVID along with inflation, supply chain disruption, recession fears, content clutter and competition for audience members’ time have made it necessary for event
producers to be “measured risk-takers”.
2. He is investing in the best speakers, content, audio-visual, entertainment and venues that create a memorable experience while presenting the information that audiences need.
3. He stressed the importance of marketing the content that people won’t want to miss with short, clear messages and social media.
4. Virtual
events can be cheap, quick and easy ways to collect audience preferences, test new ideas and reconnect attendees between in-person events, and can be lead generators for other products as well.
5. Webcasts are opportunities to showcase your company’s experts and thought-leaders to remind your audience of your industry leadership.
6. Give sponsors the white glove treatment that makes them feel that they
are important to you and makes them look important to your audiences.
